The Mathematical and Statistical Consulting Center (MSCC), opening Spring 2015, is a new service of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Youngstown State University. The MSCC has the dual purpose of
- Providing mathematical modeling and statistical consulting and data analysis services to YSU faculty, students and staff on research projects involving mathematical and statistical methods. Services that the MSCC offers are:
- Design of experiments and surveys.
- Manipulation of data (import/export, transformation) with statistical software.
- Advice on proper statistical methods for studies.
- Conduct statistical analyses.
- Interpretation of results in statistical analyses.
- Manuscript revision.
- Mathematical modeling and analysis.
- Providing experience for students in mathematics and statistics by working with real life data and modeling problems.
