Graphic Services Student Design Assistant

Student Job Description

Starting Pay: $10.75

  • Must have completed design and layout basic courses and have knowledge of layout principles.
  • Must be friendly and customer service oriented, with good work ethic, including being reliable and on-time daily to work. Assists in computer design of flyers, banners, posters, ads, logos, etc. Other support activities include, but are not limited to, laminating and ringing register sales. Must have basic knowledge of, and proficiency in Apple based desktop publishing programs, and aptitude to learn the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Graphic Services is open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.

Kilcawley Set Up Crew

Student Job Description

Position Title: Setup Crew
Hour Per Week: Minimum of 10 hours per week / maximum of 25 hours per week
Starting Pay: $10.50
Position Description: Duties include, but are not limited to:

YSU Setup Crew Member

  • Assists in the set-up and preparation of all conference facilities in Kilcawley Center and its surrounding outdoor areas for meetings, banquets, workshops, lecturers, conferences, performances, etc. Activities include, but not limited to, opening rooms, setting tables and seating, sound systems, etc.
  • Must be customer service oriented, friendly, reliable, and on time daily to work. Physical moving of heavy furniture, boxes, and equipment required. Must be able to lift and move heavy objects of 50 to 60 pounds.
  • Hours include all of Kilcawley Center’s open hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled at least 3 credit hours; strong organization and communication skills; ability to use programs such as Microsoft Office and Windows XP. Good customer service skills. Setup Crew must be willing and able to lift building furniture and equipment (50-60 pounds).

The Setup Crew member will report directly to the Operations Manager of Kilcawley Center and Student Operations Team Leaders.

Kilcawley Staff Office

Student Job Description

Position Title: Student Office Assistant
Hours per week: Minimum 10 hours, Maximum 25 hours
Starting Pay: $10.25
.Position Description: Duties include, but are not limited to:

Student Office Assistant

  • Must be customer service oriented, friendly, reliable, and on time daily to work.
  • Provide support for a full range of general office activities in the Kilcawley Staff Office.
  • Strong communication skills, detail oriented, general office skills, and a helpful cooperative attitude required for working in a service oriented environment.
  • Willingness and aptitude to learn reservation system
  • Some Student Assistant positions require additional skills such as effective telephone communication skills, strong typing skills, computer proficiency, basic accounting skills, or marketing communication background.
  • Student assistants often are scheduled during these office hours: Monday through Friday 7:30am-8pm.

Qualifications

Kilcawley Building Manager

Student Job Description

Position Title: Kilcawley Building Manager
Hour Per Week: Minimum of 10 hours per week / maximum of 25 hours per week
Starting Pay: $11.25
Position Description: Duties include, but are not limited to:

Student Operations Building Manager

  • Assist with the hiring, training and development of conference facility and staff
  • Creation and maintenance of operations crew and YSU Info & PC Lab employee files
  • Assist in the setup and operations of all audio visual and computer equipment
  • Assist with scheduling
  • Serve as contact person(s) for scheduling conflicts and work substitutions
  • Manage work load to facilitate set ups for meetings/conferences held throughout Kilcawley Center
  • Open and close building as assigned; work late-hours as well as Saturday and Sunday hours
  • Close service areas, pick up deposits, and prepare/count cash drawers
  • Assist in relaying information on policies/procedures to operations staff
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Qualifications:

  • One semester as a student employee with the Kilcawley Center Setup Crew; strong organization and communication skills; ability to work with computer equipment (laptops, computer projectors), and an ability to use programs such as Microsoft Office and Windows XP. Lastly, he/she must be able to lift and move furniture and equipment.
  • The Student Operations Team Leader will report directly to the Operations Managers and/or Associate Director of Kilcawley Center.

Position Description: Duties include, but are not limited to:

YSU Information & Card Office

  • Customer service oriented, friendly, reliable, prompt
  • Provide support for a full range of activities at YSU Info & Card Office including; I.D. card production, Pete’s Points, Flex Dollars and Meal Plans, operating printers, cash registers, etc…
  • Good knowledge or basic understanding of computer word processing skills, spreadsheets and a willingness and aptitude to learn software programs.
  • Ability to address questions and assist users of the computer lab in the above mentioned programs and basic computer operations

  • Assist the Managers with scheduling, hiring and training of student staff
  • Maintain positive communication with student workers by relaying any building information updates, news and changes to the Guest Services
  • Regularly conduct lab checks on lab computers and equipment to assure they are working properly
  • Regularly communicate with Manager any problems or issues that may arise at Penguin Xing
  • Customer service oriented, friendly, reliable, prompt
  • Maintain inventory of supplies needed at the Guest Services. Actively communicates with Managers what supplies are needed
  • Provide support for a full range of activities at Guest Services including; operating printers, Fax machine, cash registers, etc…
  • Good knowledge or basic understanding of computer word processing skills, spreadsheets and a willingness and aptitude to learn software programs.
  • Ability to address questions and assist users of the computer lab in the above mentioned programs and basic computer operations

Qualifications:

Must have at least 1 semester of experience as Desk Attendant at Guest Services

Must be enrolled at least 3 credit hours; strong organization and communication skills; ability to use programs such as Microsoft Office and Windows XP. Good customer service skills.

  • Must be customer service oriented, friendly, reliable, on time daily to work, and able to learn a basic cash register.
  • Performs a variety of tasks essential to the daily operations of Pete’s Treats. Provides customer service, weighs out candy orders, rings sales, and welcomes visitors to the Center. Other duties include stocking shelves, organizing stock room, daily inventories, receiving shipments, cleaning candy jars, shelves, glass units etc.
  • Pete’s Treats is open Monday through Thursday 8am-8pm, Friday and Saturday 8am-4pm during the school year and Monday through Friday 8am-5pm over academic breaks.
  • Regularly communicate with Managers any problems or issues that may arise at Pete’s Treats and More.
     

Qualifications:

The Cove and Snack & Chill Student Employee Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of tasks essential to the daily operations of the Cove:Manage equipment check-in/check-out
    • Manage equipment inventory
    • Monitor game areas
    • Maintain a cleanly working environment
    • Assist in relaying information on policies/procedures to patrons
  • Snack & Chill responsibilities
    • Take and prepare food orders
    • Clean throughout shift and at the end of the night
  • Assist customers as required
  • Create work orders for broken equipment and furniture
  • Open & close The Cove and Snack & Chill as assigned; work late-hours as well as Saturday and Sunday hours

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of YSU & KC rooms, policies and procedures.

  • Must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours; strong organization and communication skills; ability to work with computer software and arcade equipment. Good customer service skills.
  • Must be an YSU Student in good academic standing (GPA>2.0), enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours, enthusiastic and willing to help others.
