Differential diagnosis of addictions and mental disorders (using the DSM-5). Mindfulness meditation and mindful self-compassion training and research. Mindfulness-based approaches to therapy. Use of reflective journals in higher education. Cultural competence/cultural humility expertise with LGBTQ+ people. Military social work and work with student veterans toward retention and persistence to graduation. Creative arts therapies with expertise in poetry therapy and journaling. I provide clinical and training supervision. I teach poetry, fiction, and memoir writing privately. I am in a group psychotherapy practice in Poland, OH, where I specialize in work with transgender and nonbinary people age 15+; with gay, lesbian, and bisexual adults; and with adults of all ages managing anxiety or depressive disorders.
