Economic Development Strategic Plan

In October 2013 Youngstown State University, in partnership with the City of Youngstown, was approved for a two year Economic Adjustment grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration. The purpose was to develop an economic development strategy for the city to learn about, and take advantage of, Youngstown’s local competitive advantages. YSU’s External Affairs, Government Relations, and Economic Development (EAGRED) provided the staffing to research and write the strategy, with in-kind contributions from staff from the City of Youngstown. The final document was completed in September of 2015, and consists of several independently written studies which helped form the Goals and Objectives presented in the beginning of the plan.
