Free testing for COVID-19 is available on campus.

On campus, students and employees have two choices:

  • Mercy Health on Wick Avenue.
  • At-home testing. Kits for at-home testing are available in Rooms 2214 and 2303, Cushwa Hall, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The tests are designed to be taken at home, via a telemed appointment. The at-home testing is for surveillance purposes only - for individuals who have no symptoms. Anyone with symptoms should visit Mercy Health on Wick Avenue for a test. 

At-home testing details:
YSU's at-home testing (BinaxNOW COVID-19 rapid antigen tests) is managed through a mobile app called NAVICA. Prior to taking the test you must: 

  1. Download the NAVICA app on your iPhone or Android device and create an account. Look for the blue icon.
  2. Watch your email for an invitation from NAVICA (noreply@navica.abbott). It will contain a one-time use 12-digit Connect Code to enter in your account. This is unique to you and should not be shared.
  3. In your NAVICA app, go to the “Account & Settings” section and enter your code to “connect” to YSU.

Once connected, your test results will be shared directly with YSU.

  • Is COVID testing available?

    YSU offers free COVID testing available for any current student, faculty, or staff member. Mercy Health on Wick Ave provides on campus testing. At Home Testing Kits can be picked up at Cushwa 2214 or 2303 and taken at home via telemed appointment.
