Dance Management Major
Show off your skills while preparing for a career focused on the business end of the dance and performance industries.
What You'll Study
The Dance Management major is designed to be an interdisciplinary education, allowing you to gain a solid understanding of basic practices related to creating or managing a small business, teaching dance and becoming familiar with costume construction and stagecraft.
Coursework is broken into three parts: business management, dance sequence and theater sequence. The majority of your courses are in the dance sequence—learning the ins and outs of dance techniques, choreography, creative dance and more.
The business and theater approaches are designed to give you a solid foundation in business plan development, marketing, public relations and management, as well as best practices for costume and stage.
