The Williamson College of Business Administration and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants host accounting 2018 continuing education seminars as a part of a strategic initiative to bring high quality, in-demand professional development and continuing education programming to the region.

Youngstown CPE Day, the first of five seminars, is Wednesday, May 9, in Williamson Hall at Youngstown State University. Registration for OSPA members is $215 before April 25; after April 25 is $265. Registration for non-members before April 25 is $250; after April 25 is $300.

Youngstown CPE Day is a full-day conference providing CPAs, enrolled agents and tax preparers with concurrent sessions that focus on hot issues concerning tax law and tax regulations; accounting and auditing topics; ethics and management/technology. For additional information, call 330-941-3064.

Eight hours of CPE for Ohio and Pennsylvania along with eight hours of continuing education by the IRS for Enrolled Agents and Tax Preparers are available by attending Youngstown CPE Day.

The other four seminars include the Youngstown Institute on Taxation on June 15; Youngstown Accounting & Auditing Update on August 10; Youngstown Governmental & Not-for-Profit Update on September 28; and Youngstown Annual Tax Update on November 16.

All five seminars will be held in Williamson Hall at Youngstown State University from 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. with registration at 8 a.m. Parking is available in the parking deck on Wick Avenue.

Youngstown Institute on Taxation/June 15 — Register online. This seminar is designed for practicing accountants, enrolled agents, and tax preparers who want to stay current and knowledgeable on tax regulations and laws. An update on estate and gift tax planning, current rulings, and tax regulations is offered for attorneys.

Youngstown Accounting and Auditing Update/ August 10 — Register online. This session covers new developments in accounting and auditing standards including advice on compliance with professional regulations. This comprehensive course covers relevant pronouncements, exposure drafts and other guidance recently issued in the accounting, auditing, review, and compilation arenas. With the rate of change in today’s regulatory environment, you must stay current on the topics affecting the profession.

Youngstown Governmental & Not-for-Profit Update/September 28— Register online. This conference informs financial executives in governmental and not-for-profit organizations as well as public and accounting practitioners about the latest accounting and auditing developments affecting governments and not-for-profit organizations. In addition, updates will be offered on Yellow Book requirements.

Youngstown Annual Tax Update/November 16 — Register online. This seminar is for any tax advisor.  This fast-paced one-day course covers the latest developments in federation taxation, with emphasis on real world implications.  Emphasis on current issues, planning, and strategy keeps participants interested all day.
