International honor society inducts 16 YSU Counseling majors
Youngstown State University’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota International, an honor society dedicated to promoting excellence in the Counseling profession, has inducted 16 Counseling majors as members.
Youngstown Mayor Jamael Tito Brown, a 2006 alumnus of YSU’s graduate Counseling program, was keynote speaker at the chapter’s banquet in early April, the 33rd annual new member induction event for YSU’s Eta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.
New members are: DaJuan Williams of Youngstown; Joshua Mickels of Williamsfield, Ohio; Brian Beck of Youngstown; Shalon Salters of Cleveland; Johnna Donnelly of New Castle, Pa.; Ke Xin Chong of Greenville, Pa.; Kristyn Wolf of Youngstown; Catherine Cooper of Youngstown; Alecia Hetrick of Boardman; Marissa Gray of Beachwood, Ohio; Madelyn Annarella of Girard; Katy Crismon of Hanoverton, Ohio; Victoria Magyar of Austintown; Hannah Petrosky of Cortland; Lauren Rench of Canfield; and Kristen Dota of Canfield.
Kelsey Pringle of Youngstown is president of the YSU chapter. Other officers are: Sandra Quotson of Austintown, treasurer; Hannah Vollnogle of New Waterford, Ohio, vice president; and Natalie Ricciutti of Canfield, secretary.
Chi Sigma Iota International is one of the largest counseling organizations in the world. Its mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, advocacy, and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the counseling profession.
YSU’s Eta Chapter has initiated approximately 850 members since 1985, and the international has initiated more than 117,000 professionals and professionals-in-training worldwide. It has approximately 400 campus-based chapters in this country and abroad.
