Accounting and Finance Student/Practitioner Day Oct. 9

Youngstown State University’s Williamson College of Business Administration, in conjunction with the Lariccia School of Accounting and Finance, Beta Alpha Psi, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Student Ambassador, hosts the 19th Annual Accounting and Finance Student/Practitioner Day 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, in the Conference Center of Williamson Hall. YSU business students, as well as accounting and finance students from nearby colleges, will have the opportunity to attend panel sessions on topics such as employment opportunities in accounting; employment opportunities in finance; communication and networking skills; professional exams; the Lariccia School’s MAcc Program; what the first two years of professional life is like; smart communication; internships; student organizations; the Lariccia School’s Mentoring Aspiring Professionals program; smart finances; and smart networking. Human resource representatives from accounting and financial service firms will also be available for networking.

 

At 1 p.m., Tim West, a professor from Northern Illinois University, gives the keynote presentation entitled “Smart Impact: Leadership from the Start.” West is known for his innovative work with developing communication and interpersonal skills of accounting students.
